About @seizuredogtor
Dr. Jennifer Rich is a boarded veterinary neurologist through the American College of Veterinary Medicine (ACVIM) with over a decade of experience diagnosing and treating neurologic veterinary patients. She finds particular passion in networking within the veterinary community and in developing healthy boundaries for mental well-being within the profession. Dr. Jennifer is not only an advocate for her patients, but also for the primary care veterinarians on the front line.
Why consult?
Neurologic disease poses a unique challenge in veterinary patients, while transfer to specialty hospitals can be daunting to pet owners.
What if neurologic conditions could be accurately diagnosed and treated under the care of you as their primary care veterinarian?
Virtual Veterinary Neurology was created with this idea in mind.

In fact, a 2016 study* conducted by the veterinary Collaborative Care Coalition established that “dogs in congestive heart failure co-managed by a veterinary specialist and primary care veterinarian lived 77% longer and generated 22% more revenue at the primary care practice than those managed by a primary care veterinarian alone”.
Similar data could be extrapolated to the co-managed care of neurologic patients - those with seizure disorders, for example, requiring on-going and often complex multi-modal anticonvulsant therapy.
